Head Instructor
For me, Martial Arts is a never-ending Journey. I am always looking to further grow, evolve, and learn more. I consider myself as
much a student as a teacher. I am constantly seeking out knowledge and searching for experts in their style to study from.
I began my Martial Arts journey in 1991 in Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate under an Okinawan instructor Shihan Kiyoshi Nishime. He is pretty renown in the Karate and Okinawan weapons world and is one of the few teachers in the U.S. of Yamanni Ryu Weapon style which I also studied under him. Yamanni Ryu is a very unique and distinct system of the Bo where the staff is very fluid and in constant movement with your body.
I have trained mostly since 2005 in Kali (Filipino Martial Arts), Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee’s art based on Wing Chun) and Silat an Indonesian/Malaysian Martial Art designed for close quarter combat against multiple opponents. I am currently a Level 6 Apprentice Instructor in Kali and JKD under Guro Dan Inosanto and continue to train under him as often as possible.
Martial Arts I hold Rank in:
Okinawan Shorin Ry Karate – 2nd Degree Blackbelt
Filipino Martial Arts (Kali) – Apprentice Instructor Level 5
Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do – Apprentice Instructor Level 5
Maphalindo Silat – Instructor Level I
Endorsed by 500 Rising in Women's Self-Defense
Other Martial Arts I have significant experience in but do not hold rank:
Sikal, Sayoc Kali, Dynamic Combat, TFT (Target Focus Training), S.P.E.A.R. System, Keysi Fighting Method,
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Burmese Bando, Wing Chun, Yamanni Ryu Kobodo, Muay Thai
I have also trained some Toyama Ryu Japanese Swordsmanship under Shihan Dana Abbott who is also the creator of Action Flex padded weapons and have had Stage Combat Sword training from Adrian Paul (Highlander: The T.V. Series)
